Founded in 2018 by Newcastle’s Children’s Occupational Therapy Team the Sensational Thinking Project© was created with the key goal of better meeting the needs of children with sensory processing differences – namely, but not limited to, those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Based on the most up to date research and professional recommendations the team have developed specific training packages for key stakeholders.
The aim of these is to educate and facilitate early intervention, empowering those caring for children with sensory needs and ultimately contributing to improvement in health and education outcomes.
In line with recent research such as Coaching Parents of Children with Sensory Integration Difficulties: A Scoping Review Allan et al (2021) the team has designed dynamic and engaging information and training sessions to help people in a range of environments to better understand sensory processing differences.
